The DT120 is initially developed as a front-end data terminal for the AM120 (a sophisticated track
and trace unit based on GPRS/GPS for automotive applications) enabling direct interfacing with
several main AM120 features like its message system and voice system.
Already during development it became clear that the DT120 fills a gap in the data terminal market
because of its small size, graphical display, many additional features, as well as its very flexible
development system that enables easy and quick creation of personalized, tailored, and language
specific, menus.
As such the DT120 might be used in many types of application – apart from the AM120 – where
interfacing between a device and the outside world is required.

A 6-MHz clocked MSP processor, with 54kB Flash Memory and 6kB RAM, enables low power
operation (4mA – backlight off) . The additional serial flash memory (1 MB) is used to store both
inbox and outbox messages as well as for logging data. It also functions as intermediate memory for
remote upgrade of either new firmware and/or an updated menu structure (AM120 related).
DT120 Development Console
The DT120 is a Menu Objects Oriented System which enables an easy implementation from an
idea to a concrete menu structure at a high construct level.
The DT120 Development Console provides all the tools needed for realizing a menu structure and setting environment variables.
In addition, the console provides modules for programming, communication, and testing.
